Amy was born 7 January 1984 in Rochdale and the family moved to Plymouth, returning to Oldham in 1991. She went to school at St Aiden & Oswald in Royton/Oldham until she was 18 - attending the 6th form college there.
She worked locally in Bodycare from 14 -18 and also at the Chadderton Park Inn for 2 years 17-19. She then moved to work for Thomas Cook Plus at Ancoats-Manchester, where she successfully applied for a job with them working overseas as a children's carer at holiday resorts. She left Manchester on 12th March 2004, travelling to her work area of Fuerteventura in the Canaries. Her allocated resort was Caletta, where she was placed at Broncemar Beach. She spent the whole summer there, and was playing water polo in the pool on Friday 15th October 2004 when she suddenly passed out in the water. She passed away at the poolside around 3.00pm that day - and never returned home to us. She was our only child.
Her life was an outstanding achievement of love and affection for her family and her friends. She fulfilled all our dreams while she was with us, and has bound her friends and family together for all time. She left behind a very unique legacy - her friends - who have never stopped supporting and being with us and for that we will be always grateful.
